Current research
My research interests focus on host-parasite interactions and ecological immunology using fresh water amphipod crustaceans (e.g. Gammarus sp.) and the yellow mealworm beetles, Tenebrio molitor, as study organisms. Current projects include:
- Examining the influence of immunosuppressing parasites on the evolution host immune defences in Gammarus sp.
- Identifying the role of dietary carotenoids on innate immune defences in Gammarus sp.
- Studying the evolutionary ecology of immune priming within and across generations in the mealworm beetle, Tenebrio molitor.
